John began his financial career in 1962 as an over-the-counter trader with Blyth & Company.  By 1970, he had progressed to Branch Manager and later, Special Partner of Francis I. Smithers & Company.  John’s professional growth continued with a position as Vice President and head of the corporate bond department of Kuhn Loeb in the Chicago area.  When Kuhn Loeb merged with Lehman Brothers in 1977, John left to become Vice President, Corporate Bond Sales in the Midwest for Morgan Stanley & Company.

In 1980, John left Morgan Stanley to form the Gelderman Group, the institutional interest rate division of Gelderman, Inc.  Under his management from 1980 to 1987, the Gelderman Group became a leader in the financial futures and options industry, with a customer base ranging in size from community savings and loans to the largest government securities dealers.  In 1987, John joined Elders Futures, Inc. as Executive Director of its Institutional Financial Futures and Options Group, and was responsible for management of offices worldwide.  Since 1988, John has devoted full attention to the Vaile Financial Group, Inc. and FINRA Member Firm, Marathon Financial Group, Inc.

A resident of Chicago for the past 45 years, John Vaile is committed to the community, demonstrated by his membership on various charitable and corporate boards as well as industry councils.
